SILCAST HS 96

Silcast HS 96 is a high hot strength, high purity castable with excellent thermal shock resistance, hot load stability and resistance to penetration by molten metals due to its low porosity. This product is excellent for Well Block, Gas Purging Blocks, Ladle Bottoms and Furnace Roofs.

Max Service  Temperature – 3410°F

Material Required – 198 lbs/ft3

Hot Modulus of Rupture –  at 2450°F – 2375 lbs/in2

Hot Modulus Rupture – at 2700°F – 3500 lbs/in2

Permanent Linear Change at 2910°F – .4%

Hot Modulus of Rupture –  @ 2450°F = 2400 lbs/in2 | @ 2700°F = 2200 lbs/in2

Silcast HS is a low cement castable  with excellent thermal shock resistance, hot load stability and resistance to penetration by molten metals due to its low porosity. This product can be used in several applications i.e. Tundish Back-up Linings.
